Can you imagine living without an AC when the temperature reaches 50 degree Celsius? The same is true for your dog. In fact it is even more difficult for your dog to stay outside when the temperature is extremely high. If you live in a place where the climate is mild you probably don’t need a heating or cooling unit. However if summer is soar in the place where you live you need to do something to ensure that your dog is comfortable in its own shelter.
People are quite concerned about snow, rainfall and the cold temperature but they should be equally worried about summer heat. It has been seen that each year many dogs die from heat stroke. Summer heat can be devastating for your dog especially if it is a puppy or an old dog. An air conditioned dog house ensures your dog’s comfort and safety.
While choosing an air conditioned dog house you need to consider a few things. If you decide to install an air conditioner into the dog house you will have to make sure that it is made of a suitable material. Plastic dog houses have become popular these days. But they are not suitable for installing AC. Plastic is not easily insulated. Therefore even if AC is installed, a plastic dog house will not hold the cool air for long. For installing an AC the best choice is a wooden dog house. You can either buy an air conditioned dog house or install an AC later on.
Another point to keep in mind is that the wires, cooling units and other components should be out of reach of your dog.
